Apologies for absence Simon King, Mike Truran 2. Previous Minutes (2015 AGM) These were approved subject to correction of a few typographical errors. 3. Matters Arising None 4. Chairmans Report The chairman confimed that various disputes had been resolved satisfactorily. He referred to the procedure for preparing proposals for the AGM. These need to be idenified earlier, perhaps by the time of the Spring Committee meeting. 5. Secretary's Report This was essentially the same as was prepared at the end of the season 6. Treasurer's Report There had as yet been no news from Mike Truran re the ECF charges. The bill would eventually go to the clubs themselves. 7. Other Officers Reports U150 Steve Rumsby had agreed to run the U150 team Graders Report The results for grading had been compiled by Peter Hemmings. All results including leagues and internal competitions had been inputted to the ECF Richard Haddrell had stood down as WCF Grader. Junior Report A very comprehensive report had been provided by Andrew Varney and he would put this on the OCA Web page. It was noted that Mike Basman, organiser of the UK Chess Challenge, had gone bankrupt. 8. Presentations The winning teams and individuals from the past season had been presented with their awards at the Cowley Blitz in June, and this will be repeated if possible in future years 9 Proposal for Oxon Individual Trophy A proposal for the revival of the Oxon Individual Competition, had been produced with input from Gerard O'Reilly and Mike Truran. The subsequent discussion centred around which county competition results should be included in the assessment for the prize. Gerard O'Reilly agreed to be nominated as the organiser for this event. 10. Officer Proposals for 2016/17 The list of officers was largely as proposed in the Agenda Chairman : Dave Robson Vice Chairman : Kevin Henbest Secretary : George Spalding Treasurer : Simon King Minutes Secretary : George Spalding Fixtures Secretary : Asif Hameed Grader : Peter Hemmings ECF : Mike Truran Junior Liaison : Andrew Varney Webmaster : Roger Thetford Open Captain : Rod Langham U150 Captain : Steve Rumsby 11 Treasurer's Recommendations for 2016/17 It was likely that the annual team subscription for 2016/17 would be about £20, but this could not be decided at the meeting, in the absence of the Acting Treasurer 12. Formation of League for 2016/17 A structure of 8-8-8-10 was implemented, and draft fixtures prepared It was envisaged that we should be aiming for a general 2 up 1 down promotion relegation scenario, if possible, to get 9 teams into Div 1 aomg other things. 13. Draw for Frank Wood Competition of 2016/17 As the competition would not start until after the New Year, entries would be solicited later, and the draw made just before Christmas at the Cowley Blitz 14.
