A.Fulton Middlesex Match Captain notes: The SF encounter between Middlesex and Surrey means the two meet for a 3rd successive year. Allowing for the fact that both teams were missing some key players and that Nick Grey subbed for Neil Bridge due to his travel problems the final score (a resounding 11-5 victory to Middlesex) was surprising as the respective team averages (Middlesex 194; Surrey 193)suggested a much closer encounter (Par scor 8-8). Middlesex's victory means they make a 3rd consecutive final for the first time since 1987 (Match Captain R. Jennings: 1984-85; 1985-86 & 1986-87)and face Yorkshire. The Middlesex vs. Yorkshire final will be the 4th time the two have met at this stage (previous inaugural County Championship final 1907-08; 1924-25 & 1954-55)and 13th all time. Middlesex have won all of the previous 12 encounters and hope it will not prove to be unlucky 13!
